What Causes Pain And Tight Sensation In The Legs?

When walking around a track for exercise my lower leg between my calf muscle and ankle on both legs becomes very tight and painful. This has been a chronic condition. The muscle in front of the bone also becomes very tight and painful with limited mobility. It starts after about 1/8 of a mile. I continue to limp around the track until I get 2 or 3 miles in but the pain is borderline unbearable. I am 43 years, 6 0 and 250 lbs and am a type 2 diabetic. I suffer from chronic joint pain in nearly all joints including my back and neck. I ve tried different track and tennis shoes but the problem persists no matter what I wear. Today I also noticed a couple of swollen bulges in my lower legs during my walk/limp.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and greetings

As per the description of your events, most likely it's related to your chronic joint disease (might be arthritis). Also, recommend you to check your calcium and Vit. D levels since these deficiencies can aggravate muscle pain and swellings.

Till that time, i would recommend you to avoid strenuous exercise especially which causes fatigue of your legs. Also, keep your sugar level in check since you are diabetic.

Hope you heal fast.
Thanks
