What Causes Pain And Tightness Around Knee After Total Knee Replacement?

I had tkr surgery 6 weeks ago. I take cocodamol 30/500 every 4 hours for my pain relief. Last weekend my knee gave way and I could not put weight on it and had to go to a and e. Was told I had probably torn deep scar tissue and to carry on with exercises as I am due 6 week check up on Monday. Since it happened I have a tight band feeling above knee and my knee feels different and my knee is really painful, I feel I have gone backwards about 3 weeks. What will they do if it is scar tissue.

dear sir.i am sorry to hear about your situation.the most important cause for your knee giving away is that the artificial knee bearings having slipped leading to tear in the protective scar tissue and and tightness above the knee. your surgeon will have to examine physically and conduct an x ray to rule out the above possibilities.if its just the scar tissue is torn, then they will manage conservatively by manipulating externally and casting it temporarily till the new tissue is formed
