Hi, I have always felt sensitive to air conditioning - chest pains and the likes, but this year is the worst by far. Shortness of breath, tightness in the left side of my chest... My work has a new air filtering system, so air pollution and microbes apparently do not factor. The temperature is set far to low do my liking. What OTC medication would you suggest?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. We first need to rule out cardiac cause for your symptoms. Because left sided chest pain and breathlessness is seen in cardiac diseases. So get done ECG first. If ECG is normal then no need to worry much for cardiac cause. Another possibility is bronchitis. So consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Chest x ray 2. PFT (pulmonary function test) To rule out bronchitis. Chronic exposure to cold air can also cause bronchitis. So better to first diagnose your self and then start appropriate treatment. No point in taking over the counter drugs.
