What Causes Pain And Unpleasant Odour In The Ear Despite Using Tylenol And Motrin?

My three year old son has bilateral ear tubes placed. He has had an ear infection in left ear for 3 weeks. He has been on Augmentin and Bactrum to rid the infection. He saw his PCP for a followup a week and a half ago, rule out MRSA due to the horrible smell of the drainage. She noticed his left tube is now missing. Waiting to see EENT however, we finished last of Bactrum Friday. Now, Monday, he is in pain and the smell from his ear is worsening. Is there anything I can do to help with his pain and the smell? Tylenol and Motrin rotating every 4hrs is not helping.
