What Causes Pain And Weakness In Legs And Hip Post An Injury?

I fell down the stairs this morning and hit my upper back on my spine and my left buttock. I ve been waking fine and am stuff/sore but now I have achy/sort of weak legs and hips and there s a very very slight tingling in my right pinky finger and right pinky toe. The phone nurse said to go to the ER if I get weak limbs or numbness. But my symptoms aren t very severe and I can move everything just fine. Is it just a pinched nerve or something more serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that no bony fracture is likely but muscular or soft tissue injury or tendons sprain etc is a possibility. Nerve injury is also less likely. At this moment using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxants like Tizanidine or Orphenidine can be helpful for symptomatic relief. Warm compresses and Capsaicin gels topically may also be helpful.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
