What Causes Pain Around A Cyst In The Brain?

I had been diagnosed with epilepsy over 10 years ago and a year later found a cyst on my brain I was then 13/14 I m now coming up 30 but now i m starting to experience pain on the top of my head around the area where the cyst is positioned. The only way to describe the pain is like being hit by the sharp end of a hammer. What could this mean Or be? Is the cyst growing?

I will be reviewing your query.Well you were diagnosed with a cyst in brain some 16 years ago and I believe that the cyst was benign one as it has been there so long.But now you have started experiencing symptoms that may be due to sudden increase in size causing pressure effect or bleeding inside the cyst.For knowing the present status of the cyst you need to undergo MRI brain with contrast.Further treatment depends on your MRI reports.Feel free to contact us again after your MRI or consult a good neurosurgeon.
