Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 84 years old and had his gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago. He continues to have severe pain at one of the stab sites. He s a strong tough man and this has really knocked the wind out of his sails. Is that kind of pain normal? And how long does the pain usually last? bud
we have seen in our clinics that surgical site infection is acommon problem that causes pain and tenderness and some times discharge especially in old age ..your husband should take antibiotics local creams and oral as amoxicillin&clavulinic for 5 days as this is due to bacterial infection
hope that helps
