What Causes Pain Around The Ankle?

I have pain on the inside ankle around the ankle bone. I ran several miles last Sunday and the day after the run, I was extremely sore. I stopped running and now my pain is only mild but still in the same place. It feels very stiff through my ankle to my achilles tendons.

I understand that there was no pain in your ankle before Sunday running. Therefore running can be taken as the only cause for pain.

The pain might be because of internal trauma to tendons or ligaments attached to the bones.

As it is reducing with time, it might get heeled on its own after some time.

Rest is essential to enable body to heal the injured area.

Treatment
Try hot and cold compress. It helps to increase blood circulation and reduce soreness, swelling.

Try not to run long distance for few weeks.

No medicine should be required.

Best wishes!
