What Causes Pain Around The Chest And Rib Cage?

Yes I am a female, age 66 and have been experiencing a pain around my bra line area from the center of my chest to the right side, rib area and into the back. I have had an abdominal ultra sound and MRI which show no organ abnormalities; also a thorasic xray and an MRI of the thorasic area. All tests come out normal, but I still am experiencing the constant pain under my arm (rib area) and across my stomach (shooting electrical pulses). Doctors are puzzled. Any ideas?

The pain you are having under your arm (rib area) and across your stomach (shooting electrical pulses) if internal organs are ok then:

- First I need to have a look at the tests you did; I need to check your ovaries, uterus, pancreas, gallbladder, guts and vertebral spine.

- Next, if any change in your vertebral spine, then, the compression of nearby nerves might cause this pain.

However, MRI should have shown it; can you please send the MRI and other tests reports so I can analyze them by myself?

Colitis pain and stomach problems are also giving the same pain. Upper endoscopy to rule out ulcer or any gastric issue. Barium examination X-ray to rule out colitis.

Discuss this with your gastroenterologist. If nothing of GI origin, then, a neurologist to consult further.
