What Causes Pain Around The Incision Of An Umbilical Hernia Repair Surgery?
Hi doctor. I just had my umbilical hernia repair 3 days ago. I went to do surgery whilst having a flu. Now when I cough I feel a lot of pain in the operation. Can u take flu medication while taking pain killers for the hernia repair? One other thing i d like to know how long must I sleep on my back before I can sleep on my sides.....

You can take decongestant for flu as well as anti inflammatory pain killer drug for hernia repair pain. Excess coughing is better to avoid for week. You are advisable to sleep on you back for approx.
One week to ten days. If any pus discharge present from suture site then antibiotic can be prescribed along with wound dressing.
