What Causes Pain Around The Sternum After Urination?

My 15 year old son has been having pains/cramps directly after urinating up in his sternum area. Sometimes the pain will start under the shoulder blade and work it s way around to the front or vice versa, back to front. The pain/cramp will last anywhere from 5-15 minutes long and it s enough at times to hunch him over. It happens about 75% of the time after urinating. No pain/burning from urinating itself. He has had a urine sample done, CBC, Metabolic, Sed Rate and Amalyse blood work done with everything showing fine. His pediatrician stated he was probably dehydrated and told him to drink more fluids but I know he is getting enough fluids. Not sure what our next step/test should be.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As a first line management, analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol can be taken for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
