Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain Around The Testicles After Cardiac Catheterization?
Last week I had a heart cath done and afterward I had a bad bleed and they got it somewhat stopped but my lower abdominal area filled with blood and every sense then it s been very painful and browsing and lots of pain around testicals and during going to the restroom
The cardiac cath was done throw the femoral artery which is found in your upper thigh.
So if the cath is new and the pain starts to decrease with time you shouldn't be a worry.
But if the pain increases with time with the sensation of a blood collection in that area (hematoma) which is one of the complications of cath. Especially if your leg start to be blue or there are any new symptoms you should visit the doctor immediately.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Noor Farid,
General & Family Physician
