Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain when sitting to the left of my navel but at my waist, not near my side. It does not hurt when lying down or standing up..........it has been going on for months. I had a renal ultrasound today and when she was on that side with her probe it really hurt but the doctor said my kidneys on both sides had cysts but that was normal, other than that my kidneys were fine. I had microscopic blood in my urine that s why they did the test. I have had a colonoscopy within the last 5 years with no polyps.
Renal/kidney cysts are probably responsible for pain abdomen and blood in urine. Surgical removal of renal cysts may be required since the cysts are symptomatic. I suggest you consult a nephrologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shailja Puri,
