What Causes Pain At Incision Site Post Umbilical Hernia Surgery?
Hi I had surgery on the the 15th for 2 umbilical hernias, I was told it was going to be lapascopic but he ended up doing something a little different and not telling me or my husband til after 5 days and I pulled the tape and gauze off, I have been having pain just to the right of where I had surgery, is this normal? I did have mesh put in. It at times is so bad that I can hardly move. I have tried to speak wit my doctor but he is so rude and tells me I will hurt for 3-6 wks but this is not a pain I had to begin with. Ugh. Can anyone help me? Should I just go the Er and have someone take a look or whatever?
Pain at the surgical site can occur few days after surgery, however, if the pain persists for longer period of time then there is need to rule out infection of the surgical site. I suggest you to get the site examined clinically for any evidence of infection and thus management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
