Hi,

You are describing what sounds to be a MIGRAINE HEADACHE with visual aura. You may benefit from a class of drugs called TRIPTANS so long as you have no contraindications such as heart disease or allergies to the drug.

There are other possible choices in case triptans are not good for you. I recommend you speak to a neurologist or headache specialist for more specific opinions since other problems could be triggering these headaches which need to be addressed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
