Hi, I m an 18 year old female. I get frequent migraines, but last month I experienced a headache unlike any other. It was constant at the base of my skull with intermittent spurts of sharp, shooting pain behind my eyes. I went to the ER multiple times. I was given a shot of tordal and prescribed hydrocodone, both of which did not ease the pain. After about 3 weeks, I started experiencing numbness in my face and scalp which eventually spread throughout the entire left side of my body. I went back to the ER and they hooked me up to an IV to give me fluids and a mixture of tordal and cortisol. They finally were able to knock out the headache, but the numbness remained. That was on August 7. Now it s September, and I m still experiencing numbness. The numbness becomes worse when I exercise or when I get overheated (like taking a hot shower). I get tired very easily and have been very fatigued. I am an athlete, so this is not normal for me. I see spots and flashing lights in my vision and I nearly fall over every time I stand up from lightheadedness. My neurologist said my CT and my MRI were both normal and my blood work was normal as well. I really just want to know what s going on with my body. Any help is appreciated! Thank you.
