What Causes Pain Behind The Head After Walking On The Treadmill?

I was walking on the treadmill yesterday and the base of my skull made a very loud pop. It caused an extreme pounding in the back of my head. The pain has kept me up all night. It calms down if I lay flat and don’t move my head. I am also fused from c2 to t1. If I look side to side there is a grinding sound. If I stand up it feels like my heart is pounding hard in the back of my head. I did get migraines be for my fusion but this doesn’t hav the same feeling. Is this anything I should be concerned about?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As far as my clinical experience is concerned, there can be possible alteration in BP during treadmill test or other issues related to cervical fusion if particular position was responsible for the same.
* I recommend to get you checked in my office by prior appointment for further management.
Do give me further chance to assist in future.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
