What Causes Pain Behind The Inside And Outside Of Knee Cap?
I am experienceing excruciating pain behind the inside of my knee cap and front lower and above the outside of my knee I have my legs propped up with ice packs and the pain won t go away the pain started early this morning with a leg cramp and hasn t let up (the cramp was gone within 5-10 mins) thank you

Severe knee pain after cramp episode may be part of anatomic disturbances inside the joint space. There can be associated injury in form of sprain, strain or rupture of the cruciate ligament, meniscus or collateral ligaments of the knee joint. The following measures will help you for sure till Ortho guidelines are available by physical examination:
- Local application of heating pad
- Use of spray or ointment containing Diclofenac, linseed oil with or without Capsaicin
- Anti inflammatory medicines such as Diclofenac, Etoricoxib or others with proteolytic enzymes as Serratiopeptidase
- Assisted physiotherapy after clinical consultation
Your orthopedic doctor will decide need of any X-ray with or without an MRI of the knee joint for further guidelines.
