What Causes Pain Behind The Knees, Ankles And Chest?

I have a list of symptoms I m sorry but I m trying to get some input. My doctor keeps telling me that everything I m experiencing is just anxiety but I don t think it is. Here s my list: pain behind knees, pain in ankles, muscle twitching in legs mostly but also in other parts of my body, tachycardia, brain fog, chest pain (sometimes), occasional wet spot sensation on legs (not wet though), feeling of an ant crawling on me once in a while, shaky, vomiting in mornings (not pregnant), loss of appetite, dizziness, sometimes my fingers will twitch involuntarily, trouble sleeping and sometimes I have pain in the groin area...I know this is a long list and I might be forgetting something but I just need some answers. I have been put on anxiety meds (lexapro and I was taking klonopin but I stopped taking that). I ve had ultrasounds on my legs and I do not have blood clots, I ve had EKGs and they were normal. I believe I was bitten by a tick in Kentucky while on vacation but my ELISA was 0.32 (and apparently you have to have a score of 0.99 or higher to be positive for Lyme disease). I don t know where else to turn, I m sorry this is so long. Please if someone could help me I d greatly appreciate it. Brittany.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry to hear the symptoms you facing. I think you should get it checked by the neurologist. As the ant moving sensation is considered as tingling and abnormal contraction of the muscles can be related to the peripheral nervous system or the central nervous system.

Getting it examined can help understand the possible pathology due to which the abnormal symptoms are being faced by you. Also the pain behind the knee and ankle needs to be assessed once by the orthopedist as any muscle tightness and abnormal pathomechanics of the joint may lead to rise in the pain.

I will advice to meet the neurologist and an orthopedist. Also, you should start doing simple free exercises which will help improve the muscle physiology and muscle strength. Due to the symptoms you face there might be chances of getting muscle weakness and so the exercises are recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
