What Causes Pain Below The Breast And Nausea While Suffering From Diabetes?

54 year old female. Hx diabetes (under control with oral mess), reflux, recent esophigial stretching. Symptoms: episodes of intense, sudden pain at bra line, mostly right side below breast, nausea, shakiness, claminess, weakness lasting a few minutes-15, 20 minutes. Diarrhea usually a few hours before. Have had about 6-7 episodes over past year. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Hello,

There are 2 possible explanations for the symptoms you experience:
- drops in blood sugar levels
- esophageal reflux.

Do monitor your blood sugar levels, especially during these episodes, record the results for reference.

Do follow up with a gastroenterologist, and run upper endoscopy to evaluate the upper GI tract and treat the problems adequately.

Kidney/pancreas/liver function tests required together with urine analysis and stool examination and culture in case of diarrhea.
