Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain Below The Navel And In The Lower Back?
I have had 2 UAs that showed I had yeast in them. The doctor told me it could be a UTI or bladder infection. I have used 3 different antibiotics. I still have symptoms which include: severe pain and cramping below my belly button and pain in my lower back on both sides of my spine. My doctor was not concerened and told me to give it time to see if this goes away, or go to the walk in clinic. What do you think.
By UA did you mean urine analysis. I would advise you to repeat a urine routine and microscopy test as well as a urine culture and sensitivity test. Vaginal swab test. Ultrasound of the abdomen. Based on the above investigations, a confirmatory diagnosis can be arrived at and the condition be treated accordingly.
In the meantime, drink plenty of fluids. Ensure periodic regular emptying of the urinary bladder. Avoid sexual intercourse for 2 or 3 weeks. Maintain good hygiene of the perineal region. Other common possibilities are acidity issues/dyspepsia, renal stones, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan, General & Family Physician
