What Causes Pain Below The Rib Cage, Loss Of Appetite And Diarrhea?

My daughter is fifteen years old and is experiencing pain about an inch down from her rib cage on the right side. She has had a loss of appetite and when we have got her to eat she has diarrhea not long after. She has said the pain had increased in the past couple of days.

Hi

Abdominal pain and diarrhoea can occur due to indigestion or colitis.Colitis refers to mild inflammation of colon due to infections.Antacids and antibiotics may be required.Adequate hydration is to be encouraged.

Incase of blood or mucus in stools, dysentery must be ruled out.Incase of persisting pain abdominal ultrasound may be required.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.

Regards
