Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had pain in my left ribs and below the rib cage. Over time it has gotten better, but I notice that the pain comes back slightly after drinking red or white wine. The pain radiates to the back left lung. I have GERD and wonder if it s the acidity.
There can be various reasons for such pain as:
gastritis or duodenitis
ulcer stomach or duodenum
spleen enlargement from portal hypertension or else
pathology related to lower lobe of the left lung
others.
It is recommended to undertake a prescription of x-ray chest and ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
