What Causes Pain Between Armpit And Waist While Suffering From Arthritis And Osteoarthritis?

I have had a sharp pain on my right side between my armpit and waist from my belly button around to the middle of my back.. I have had blood and urine test and x-ray of my stomach....All came back negative and my creatine is very good. I also had a ct-scan with contrast...Nothing The doc in the ER said it could be a muscle pulled and to put heat on it a few times a day.....This has been since last wednesday....I am 63 years old and use a walker to walk. I have had my thyroid out and my gallblader removed....They all tell me the tests are good and Maybe it is a muscle pull....I am taking 4 lortab a day instead of 3! I have arthritis and osteoarthritis can u help?

Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of muscle strain. Paracetamol alone may not be effective in reducing the pain. I would suggest you to take a muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxazone along with pain killers. Physiotherapy and hot fomentation will also reduce your symptoms.
