What Causes Pain Between The Left Lower Rib-cage And Breast?

Hi Doc, this past few weeks, I'm having pain at between my left lower rib cage and breast. It usually happens at night when I'm sleeping sideways on my left. And occasionally happens during daytime. The pain is like pulling sensation. There's like a hard lump when I'm pressing on to it. I had done the ultrasound scan for the breast, but nothing to worry about. I have NAFD, hypertension and diabetes. Does it related to them?

I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely costochondritis.Pain while palpation on rib area is characteristic.But it is better to rule out any problems relating to heart by doing ECG.For costochondritis i treat my patients with anti inflammatory gels of diclofenac or nimusulide for local application.I also give them as tablets for oral intake if pain is more.If there is no improvement then i advise local injection of corticosteroids or anesthetics.Hope this may help you.

Thanks for posting your query.

There could be an abscess in your breast which is causing pain and lump.
You need to get a test called FNAC of the lump for the confirmation of diagnosis
If the test report confirms it abscess then you need to be started on Antibiotics.
