What Causes Pain Between The Throat And Stomach?

O.k. have a small pain between my throat and stomach in my oesophagus. Cannot get medical help before one month from now. This pain only comes when I drink wine, eat spicy or acidic foods. Wonder what medication I could get over the counter. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicating possible acid reflux. It's better to get an upper endoscopy done by a gastroenterologist to determine the right cause.

If not can take over the counter antacid after meals. It's very important to follow a healthy diet:
- have frequent meals but in small portions
- avoid too many foods
- avoid oily/spicy/fried/chilly foods
- sleep with an extra pillow with raised head
- do not lay down immediately after eating
- have your meals regularly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
