What Causes Pain, Discharge And Burning Sensation In The Vagina?

I had a uti but this seems different with lots of discharge. My vagina is aching and burns so much when I urinate. I tried monistat and it started to help but it got really bad again. I m 53 years old and never experienced anything like this. I m drinking lots of water and taking probiotics plus cranberry supplements. Please help! This is so painful.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Thee symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial vaginosis.
I suggest to do a vaginal swab and a urine test for further evaluation.
The treatment consists in antibiotics.
I recommend Ciprofloxacin twice a day for a week.
I also suggest to drink liquids, continue using cranberry juice and use cotton underwear.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
