Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have clogged Eustachian tube that has occurred due to cold and phlegm gets accumulated in the Eustachian tubes that are present as connecting link between the middle ear and back of nose [nasopharynx]..
As on high altitudes there is pressure difference and it is a normal process for ears to clog and there can be pain that can get exaggerated in prevailing congestions..
Severe pain can occur in case if there is perforation in eardrum due to aggressive popping of ears in attempt to unclog..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do an Otoscopic examination to rule out the the exact cause of pain and as you popped it there is a possibility that the eardrum is perforated..
He can advise you a course of antibiotics like Ceplalxin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Naproxen or Advil, decongestants oral as well as nasal, steroids and antibiotic ear drops..
In case if there is a large peroforation Tympanoplasty can be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
