I fell off a hotel bed and landed on my left side. It hurts to breathe, cough, sneeze or move. I m taking Advil but it s the breathing that scares me cause it hurts so much. Should I see a dr? I read they really can t do a whole lot for a bruised or cracked rib

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would suggest having your x-ray chest done at least preferably do NCCT chest. I don't think you would have rib fracture. So relax. Take some NSAIDs, have your test done and follow me up after it. Pain at the local site would subside in time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
