Hi, Bright red coloured urine (hematuria) could occur normally when you took food like beets or blackberry,drugs like rifampin or pyrazinamide etc and it subsides automatically after the withdrawal of that. If It has come once or twice without any reason or symptoms then there is no need of any investigation further and it get subsides by itself. If it will come continuously then it can be due to urinary tract infection(acute cystitis), stones (kidney or bladder),prostate enlargement,acute urethral injury,kidney cyst or rarely tumor in kidney,ureter,bladder etc. Treatment is mainly depend upon the underlying cause or diagnosis for which you have to undergo routine blood and urine investigations with ultrasound of abdomen or cystoscopy to rule out bladder stone/tumour/growth.
