Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain During Urination Along With Stabbing Pain In Leg?
I have pain primarily after urination for the last 3 days and sharp stabbing pain when using my right leg (i.e. when operating a vehicle), and also a dull right hip pain that is almost constant. Does this sound like a UTI-type infection, or possibly a damaged nerve?
As per my understanding we can rule out both the doubts. First you need a thorough neuromuscular assessment. Second, a urine culture to figure out the presence of the pus cells. If the urine culture turns negative then the neuromuscular assessment will help us find if any pinched nerve in the lumbar spine is present, if the neuromuscular assessment turns positive then the MRI of lumbar spine is recommended to understand the soft tissue position.
Based on the findings the treatment will be advised
For UTI - medication and pelvic floor strengthening
For Pinched nerve in lumbar spine - Rest and exercises for - core, spine, lower limbs.
Usually 99% patients in my personal practice have recovered and so expect the same from you.
