What Causes Pain During Urination And Abdominal Pain Post Abortion?

Hello, I had an abortion at 15 weeks due to health reasons, on December 15,2015. I went to the emergency room about 3 weeks later due to chest pain and shortness of breath, at which time they performed an ultrasound that showed I had tissue left over. They said it would probably just past with my next period, so expect it to be heavy. On January 17th my period arrived but was pretty normal in flow and length. I am now having pain when I urinate and also sharp kidney pain, chest and back pain. Could this be related to the abortion even though it happen almost two months ago?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Retained products of conception are unlikely to present after a gap of 2 months.
Retained products of conception usually present immediately and the symptoms associated are lower abdominal pain and continuous bleeding.
Pain during urination and pain in the region around kidney, chest and back need to be investigated.
A urine examination is required to look for evidence of infection.
In case, there is evidence of urine infection, urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity need to be done for treatment.
In addition, please consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment to look for any residual products of conception in uterus, although possibility is low.
Back pain may be associated with uterine pain only.
