Dear Patient! I have read your query carefully, thank you for asking us on HCM.

Difficulty in urination or as the doctors call it "urinary retention" in women may be caused by several reasons: Some of them are:
- Obstruction of the urethra which may be from inside, ( a stricture, polyp, etc.) or from outside when something press it (cystocele, rectocele, benign or malignant masses, etc).
- Weakness of bladder muscles so your bladder has not enough power to throw the urine out.
- Problems with the bladder nerves due to different medical conditions, other diseases.
-Stones or chronic urinary tract infections may lead to difficulty of urinating.

I suggest you to have an appointment with your urologist to do the proper examinations to rule out this problem.

Take care and best wishes!
Dr Eriol.
