Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr. Rynne, I have an electrical shock type pain that shoots from the lower left side of my abdomen to my foot. I had a myomectomy in 03 and a hysterectomy in 13. The hysterectomy was performed robotically. My ovaries, though can not be seen via ultrasound were left in. The pain originates from the area of the lower of the two scars on the left. The jolting pain has been more frequent and intense in the last several months. My GYN says its endometriosis that s affected the ovary and wants to do injections to treat. Short of a biopsy type surgery, I ve been told that there is no way to definitively diagnose endometriosis. I m not ready to do injections without more definitive info and plan to contact my primary physician. Thought?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
I would advise to get an MRI done to exclude any entrapment of nerves at scar and also spinal level. It can also throw light on possibility of endometriosis. Your doctor can then advise specifically the line of treatment for you.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
