Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain From The Abdomen To The Shoulder Blade?
I have been having some pains in my abdominal area and the pain goes thru to my back next to my shoulder blades. It hurts when I bend over, I have had a cough for about a month now so I am not sure If I strained something. never mind I am not going to pay you to tell me what is wrong.. this is very misleading. it does not say it cost to get a question answered. forget it
The pain in the shoulder blades is due to Trapezitis. The muscle called Trapezius inserts over there and inflammation of it is suggestive of abnormal changes in the cervical spine.
Due to cough for a long run can make the change in the normal physiological functions of the muscles of the upper back and leads to pains.
The abdominal pain can be due to either excessive coughing or maybe a gastric issue. Drinking more water is advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
