What Causes Pain From The Ankle To The Shin?

Over the last ten days, I ve had chronic pain from my left ankle bone up the outside of my shin (about 4-5 ). I don t recall hitting it on anything and it is not swollen or dis colored. I am doing quite a bit of long walks and short hikes over the last month. I have been icing it some.

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. If you provide some more information then it will be more helpful.
Is your affected leg more colder or hotter compare to other leg?
Is the pain increasing while exertion or constant type?
Do you walk long distance or run or do do unusual exertion recently?
Most likely this can be musculoskeletal pain and in such case taking over the counter NSAIDs like Ibuprofen , applying gels containing NSAIDs like VOLINI locally and massage will be helpful. If there is no improvement then a local examination by General surgeon should be carried out to rule out vascular problems.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
