Hi,

The pain may be neurological in origin. Neurological pain can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes. Neuralgia is the term used for nerve related pain.
Some of the more common causes are thyroid disease, liver or kidney disease, a side-effect of medication, low levels of vitamin B12 or folate, diabetes, trauma.

If it continues or worsens then you should be seen. There are medications that help relieve neuralgia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
