What Causes Pain In Abdomen And Back After Taking Misoprostol?

Doctor .I am on a process of medical abortion, one day back I had mifepristone, n this morning I had misoprostol, after five minutes of consuming I had severe abdominal pain and back pain, I also vomited but still I m not having my mensuration..... how long does it usually take for the medicine to work? Am I going to go through more pain? Please help me I will be thankful. Thank you

Hi dear...how many weeks pregnant are you? You can repeat a second vaginal dose of 800microgm of misoprostol if the foetus is not expelled by the first dose of misoprostol.. If this is not happening, or if there is excessive bleeding D&c is definitely safer and better since it ensures better removal of conception products..
Do contact your gynaecologist if your bleeding excessively or expulsion isnt occuring despite repeat dose of misoprostol.
