What Causes Pain In Anus And Stomach?

My boyfriend has trouble going to the toilet. When he wakes up, he s in there for at least 20 minutes and he has very bad stomache pains if he doesn t go. He has said on numerous occasions that his anus really hurts, and sometimes there is some blood in his pants when we go to do the washing. Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Your boy friend may be suffering from haemorrhoids.
If he is suffering from severe pain while defecating, ask him whether he is suffering from constipation(unable to defecate without straining).If so,from how many days?.
If there is blood or mucus in the feces(shit).Stomach pain may be due to severe straining.
Or he may have some anal tears due to straining.
First confirm whether the feces are complete red(abnormal) i.e blood mixed with feces or blood is oozing seperately from anus .
If the feces are red in color, the reason may be due to some internal bleeding in the stomach or intestines.

Finally, If the pain is severe which is curtailing him from doing his routine normal work, this is a thing to be concerned about.Please consult a surgeon or gastroenterologist.
