Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I ve been having pain in the arch of my left foot for a couple years now. But over the past 8 months it has gotten much worse. It s a burning pain that also feels almost like a jolt of electricity sometimes. All the way from my heel all the way up my arch and sometimes even including painful throbbing in my big toe. There is also a spot wid way up my inner calf muscle that seems somehow related. If the spot on my calf is pressed on, it shoots pain immediately to my foot. I have had X-Rays, nerve testing from a neurologist and most recently was sent for an MRI by my podiatrist. Nothing showed up as abnormal on any of the tests except for a small amount of fluid around a tendon in my ankle. I m (hopefully) getting a cortisone shot next Monday, which will be a much needed relief. But I want to find out what s actually wrong. Any thoughts or suggestions would be quite helpful! Thank you!
