What Causes Pain In Back Of A Person With Pneumonia?
i had pneumonia for about 8 weeks. was misdiagnosed for 6 of those 8 weeks. then had xray. took two weeks of antibiotics. congestion in upper right lobe has cleared up for the most part but now I have severe pain in my back across from the upper right lobe. have been told the pneumonia could be affecting my heart. pain goes away when I lay on a heating pad. could it just be muscular
Since you have already been diagnosed as a pneumonia on treatment with antibiotics but I really doubt that your severe back could have any relation to pneumonia. Also it is very unlikely that the infection of pneumonia can affect to the heart,so need not to be worried about it.
It could be due to muscular (myalgia or muscle spasm) or musculo-skeletal origin since it is more related to posture.
So,I will keep this possibility first and will advise you to use over the counter pain reliever medications (diclogenac or naproxen) with muscle relaxant like mebeverine 200 mg for symptomatic relief for 2 to 3 days.
In case, pain is persistent the you should see your treating physician for further evaluation clinical examination and some relevant tests.
Hope this helps.
