Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain from just below my wait down to my knee on my right leg. I appears to be in the front of the let. Let me also advise I have spinel stenosis, osteoarthritis inflammatory arthritis, and fibromyalgia. it does not feel like it is related to the fibromyalgia. it is so painful I can hardly walk with my cane
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in between the waist and knee. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like inguinal hernia , osteoarthritis , lipoma , edema, septic arthritis , STD or sciatica. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses on groin area , keep this area clean and dry , take over the counter anti histamine like benadryl or wear loose cloths . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may examine physically along with taking sample for lab test and skin patch test . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for muscle and bone problem . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory along with physical therapy . Gentle massage with sesame oil will be helpful.
It is possible that the pain may be related to your history of osteoarthritis.
This can cause severe pain in some persons depending on the extent of the damage. Spinal stenosis would be associated with back pain as well, if there is nerve compression then this can cause pain in the thighs and legs.
Since the pain is severe, you may want to see your doctor for an assessment to determine the exact cause.
I hope this helps
