General & Family Physician 's  Response
Discharge from nipple is usually not very serious unless if it is bloody discharge. If it is a bloody discharge it should be taken seriously as it may be due to cancer of breast. If not associated with blood, the nipple discharge may be due to benign diseases of the breast. To be on the safer side your breast has to be examined by a surgeon who can advise proper treatment.
