What Causes Pain In Breast?

About 3 days ago my breast felt sore like they did when I was breast feeding(4 yrs ago) I squeezed my nipple and some milk came out..at least I think its milk. I've been getting some pain on my nipples...yesterday it was a burning sensation...what could this mean??

Hi,

Breast discharge could be due to infections,tumour like growth or hormonal reasons.All these causes should be ruled out. Since the hormonal levels are normal, histopathological examination and culture and sensitivity of the discharge should be done.

Intraductal papilloma are noncancerous growths in the ducts of the breast and is the most common reason of abnormal nipple discharge. When they become inflamed, intraductal papillomas may occur. Standard treatment for this condition involves surgery to remove the papilloma and the affected part of the milk duct.
