What Causes Pain In Chest Along With Difficulty In Breathing?

For a week now I ve had pain in my chest. It flares up when I do anything above a normal walk, when I m anxious, and when I move my neck in certain directions, sometimes when it hurts it gets hard to breath. I m 23 female and there is a history of heart disease in my family

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in chest along with difficulty in breathing which could e due to hear realted causes, due to musculosketal reasons and it could be due to acid refux. Need not to worry. If it is left sided there are possible chances of having heart disease. You should get ECHO and ECG done to find out any cardiac abnormality. Sometimes musculoskeletal pain can also cause similar symptoms. You should avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Avoid movements causing pain. if symptoms keeps on persisting you should consult cardiac specialist once and go for complete examination and start treatment after proper prescription. You should take painkiller along with muscle relaxant medications.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having anxiety neurosis with costo-chondritis giving rise this problem.
To relieve anxiety of cardiac ailment go for EKG to rule out any cardiac problem.
Take NSAID medicine for chest pain.
do deep breathing exercises daily.
