What Causes Pain In Chest And Left Arm While Suffering From Depression?
Thank you,I am looking up information for my sweet cousin who lives two states away from me, she lost her husband tragically and in front of her this happened just a couple months ago. And, though she has been inspiring and her beautiful self, she is very depressed and has multiple estate things going on. on. The last couple days, she has not been able to get out of bed, I am told she has very bad chest pain, that is also in her back and in her left arm.She believes it s fibro since she has this condition and stress.I m unsure that is the case. What would be your take?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A clinical assessment by a psychiatrist is required before concluding that she is suffering from depression. The symptoms of low mood could be due to post traumatic stress disorder since she faced a tragic situation recently. The chest pain, back pain and arm pain also need to examined to determine whether these pains are due to disorder of chest, back and arm or psychological. So, you need to help your cousin to move out of bed and get herself examined. Management can be planned after clinical assessment only.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
