What Causes Pain In Chest Radiating Towards Neck And Breathlessness?

Wife has be having chest pain that float from one day to the next. it goes from left to right pain is at the bottom of her ribs. then sometimes it will go to her neck muscle and even will ache in her back. we went to Vanderbilt in Nashville. they gave her a EKG which came back good. x raid her chest and it came back good. she has be in pain for about 2 months. OTC pain meds help some but still hurts. She has no fever, no cough. she is short or breath but she says she breaths shallow so it dont hurt. Any Ideas.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in chest radiating towards neck and breathlessness . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acid reflux , chest infection , muscle spasm , asthma and viral infection . But in your case the symptoms are probably due to heart condition known as angina . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist without any delay . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile , chest X-ray and sometimes angiography to confirm the diagnosis and rule out condition like acid reflux . Doctor may prescribe isosorbide nitrate along with aspirin , betablockers and diuretics. You should also consult your surgeon as the symptoms can occur due to post surgery complication.Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist for chest infection . For now take proper rest and do not exert our body .
