I was diagnosed with a kidney infection earlier today at urgent care. I w given antibiotics and pain medication. The pain medication does not help at all and tonight I started vomiting. Shortly after a violent episode of vomiting, my left ear is killing me. Two questions.... 1. Is the a pain medication that works best for kidney infections and 2. Is out normal for my ear to hurt after vomiting? I have another doctors appointment tomorrow, as they are monitoring me very closely, but was hoping to go to appointment with a little more info. Thanks
Hi, thanks for your query. You are on antibiotic for kidney infection. This antibiotics and painkillers can cause gastritis, this will cause vomiting. When you vomit, there will be pressure in the middle ear which can cause ear pain and blockage. Do steam inhalation +valsalva exercises. This will help in reducing the middle ear pressure. If your pain is not reducing , it means the infection is still not controlled. Consult with the doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
