What Causes Pain In Ears After Treating Upper Respiratory Infection?
I had an upper respitory infection about 4 months ago and tried to treat with antibotics but didn t help.went to ent and they removed adenoids and septoplasty but I am two months post op and still have conjestion on right side of nose and ear feels blocked..all of this started because of ear pain and fullness but nothing has helped
Congestion in nose can be due to sinus infection known as sinusitis and ear ache and fullness can be due to infection in ear and accumulation of fluid behind the ear drum. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopy and PNS View of x ray can help in diagnosis.. In case of infection antibiotics , anti-inflammatory painkillers, decongestants like Phenylephrine [oral as well as nasal], saline nasal irrigations, steam inhalations and steroid nasal sprays can help..
Hope this helps.
Regards.
