What Causes Pain In Ears Upon Exposure To Low Frequency Sounds?
Hello. I have this problem that affects my ear. Whenever i m chewing and i swallow something, i feel like bits of the food is going to my ear for some reason. My ears also hurt when listening to low bass frequencies such as kick drums even at low volume. Do you know what might be causing that?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in ears upon exposure to low frequency sounds which is due to earwax accumulation, fluid accumulation, ear infection which sometimes remain persistent and leads to recurrent otitis media and ear pain. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics such as Levofloxacin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory medications. You should take green tea daily in the morning, You should do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
